Bhawanipatna (BWIP) is on the Lanjigarh-Junagarh line, opened in 2012, with a small number of trains. Kesinga (KSNG), about 35 km away, is a larger railhead; Junagarh Road is also on the line.
How to reach Bhawanipatna by road
NH-26 crosses the district and links the town with Bhubaneswar, Raipur and Visakhapatnam. State and private buses run from these cities; journey times are long, so allow a full day.
