Why it matters

Why Cameron Highlands Flora Park is worth your time

Flower growing is one of the district's main industries, alongside vegetables, and a purpose-built flower park shows how much the highlands now rely on garden tourism. The cool climate allows petunias and temperate flowers to flourish at this altitude, which would be difficult in Malaysia's lowlands.

It is a commercial, photography-focused attraction rather than a heritage site. If you want a calm, shaded hour among flowers it delivers, but at RM50 a head, families on a budget may prefer the cheaper lavender garden or a farm stop. Weigh the cost against your group's interests before going.

Plan your visit

How to experience it

Follow signs for the Rose Center and park at the shuttle point. Private vehicles cannot enter, so you buy tickets at the drop-off and ride a pickup-style shuttle for about five minutes on a bumpy road. Hold the railings.

Inside, petunias greet you at the entrance and a long boardwalk leads towards an indoor section. There are many photo corners, including a rope swing, a spiral staircase, a glass staircase and a ginkgo leaf tunnel. Wooden platforms and benches let you stop for a picnic or rest.

If you are fit, the climb to the hilltop viewpoint gives a wider view but is tiring. A cafe sells pastries and drinks and there is an ice cream stand. Pick up a map at the ticket counter, wear shoes with grip and keep to the paths and out of the planting beds.

Plan with confidence

Small decisions that make the visit easier.

  • Allow at least two hours
  • Check the ticket price and parking charge
  • Hold the rails on the bumpy shuttle
  • Wear grip shoes; paths are wet after rain
