Easy transfers to and in Cameron Highlands
- Carry a warm layer and rain jacket every day. Temperatures are mild by day but evenings feel cold, and heavy rain is common.
- Hire a driver for the Mossy Forest and BOH Sungei Palas road, which is steep, narrow and winding.
- Arrive in Tanah Rata with a plan for meals, as vegetarian options are limited and kitchens are mixed. Carry travel insurance and your regular medicines.
- Avoid weekends and school holidays if you can; traffic on the Kea Farm road builds from about 10 to 11 am.
- Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
- Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
- Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
