The short answer

Oasis (vegetarian, Night Bazaar): what visitors should know first

Go if you are already at the Night Bazaar and want a meat-free Thai meal away from the food court. Wikivoyage says it closes around 20:00, and we found no menu, so confirm it is open and ask about egg before ordering.

Why it matters

Why Oasis (vegetarian, Night Bazaar) is worth your time

Vegetarian choices inside the Night Bazaar food court are limited, and many fried snacks there are cooked in shared oil. A separate vegetarian address in the same compound gives Indian and other vegetarian families a calmer option within walking distance of central hotels.

The honest caveat is thin information. Two guides name Oasis but give no dishes, so treat it as a lead to check and not a promise. It is still worth knowing about, because walking back to a hotel hungry after the Night Bazaar is a common problem for older travellers, and an early vegetarian meal here solves it without a taxi.

Highlights

What not to miss

  1. 01

    Vegetarian by description

Two guides list it as a vegetarian restaurant, a rare option inside the Night Bazaar area.

  2. 02

    Next to The North

The GT Rider guide places it beside The North hotel, a useful landmark.

  3. 03

    Early close

Wikivoyage notes it shuts around 20:00, so go before the bazaar is busiest.

Plan your visit

How to experience it

Find the Night Bazaar main stage and walk behind it. The Wikivoyage entry places Oasis there, at the corner of the street leading to the fruit market, and the GT Rider guide places it next to The North, on a small street off the bazaar. If you cannot find it, ask at The North reception.

The sources describe it only as vegetarian, and neither gives a menu, prices or details about egg, dairy or sauces. We therefore have not tagged it pure vegetarian or vegan. Ask the staff what is in each dish, whether egg is used, and whether the stock is vegetable based, and keep the order simple if you follow Jain or strict rules.

A sensible plan is to eat here first, at an early dinner, then walk through the bazaar stalls afterwards when the evening is cooler and the crowds are in full flow.

Plan with confidence

Small checks that make a better meal.

  • Arrive before 7:30 pm
  • Ask about egg, fish sauce and onion
  • Look for The North hotel as a landmark
  • Confirm it is open that day
  • Keep a backup such as Tamachat
