With parents at Chincholi Wildlife Sanctuary: There are few benches, toilets or shops, and forest tracks can be rough, especially after rain. Walking is on uneven ground with little shade in summer. Older visitors do better with a short vehicle-based outing in the cool months.

Pacing
Pacing a Chincholi trip for parents and children
- Visit between October and February, and be in the forest at dawn or late afternoon, never midday.
- Carry plenty of water, snacks, medicines and a first-aid kit; there are no reliable facilities in the forest.
- Choose short outings by car and skip long treks or uneven slopes if balance is a concern.
- Use a driver who knows the roads and avoid unfamiliar forest tracks after dark.
- Confirm entry rules with the Karnataka Forest Department before you travel.
- Keep emergency contacts handy, as mobile signal can be weak.
