How to experience it
Most visitors see Dhuandhar as part of a Marble Rocks boat ride, where the boatman navigates near the drop and the spray drenches you. If you want a closer look from above, park near the lower ghat and walk up the rocky path to the top of the gorge. The path is steep but short, marked by rope handholds and the footsteps of many visitors.
From the top you look straight down into the gorge where the water churns and froths. The sound is deafening and the spray can drench you even from above. In winter the flow is lower and you see the rocks beneath the water clearly. In monsoon (July to September) and early rains, the flow is tremendous but the rocks are treacherous.
Do not approach the edge in wet conditions, and if you feel unsure on loose footing, stay back. The rocks have claimed lives over the years, so this is one place where caution is not overcautious.
