Easy transfers to and in Jwalamukhi
- The bazaar lane to the temple is about a kilometre of shops; ask a taxi or auto to drop you as close as the gate allows and plan the walk back with a rest.
- Footwear is left near the temple entrance; carry socks if the stone floors are hot or cold, and keep a small bag for your phone and valuables.
- Winters are cool and summers hot; carry cotton in summer and a light woollen in winter, and drink water through the day.
- Do not plan more than the temple and one nearby sight in a day; Kangra and Masroor are better on a separate day with a car.
- Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
- Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
- Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
