- The sun at Kanyakumari is intense. Carry sunscreen, a hat and water, even if you are only spending an hour on the beach or at the Vivekananda Rock jetty.
- Padmanabhapuram Palace has many stairs. If mobility is a concern, explore the ground floor and courtyards, or ask staff if there is a shortcut to the upper floors. The palace itself is worth seeing for the woodwork even if you skip the staircases.
- Boat rides to the Vivekananda Rock can be choppy on windy days. If you have joint or back issues, ask the boatman about the sea state before deciding. The boat ride is short but the motion is noticeable.
