Guides for the stops on these routes
Pacing
Pacing a Kishtwar trip for parents and children
- Hire a driver who knows the roads and check weather before every outing.
- Keep national park and shrine visits for fit travellers; older visitors will enjoy Chowgan and the lower valleys more.
- Carry medicines and a first-aid kit, as medical help is far from the high country.
- Go slowly at Sinthan Top (about 3,784 m) and turn back if unwell.
- Carry photo ID, as checks occur on the main roads.
- Avoid the monsoon months, when landslides can close hill roads.
