The short answer

When to go to Kumbhalgarh

The best months are November to February, when days are mild and clear and the fort climb is comfortable. March and October are still workable. April to June is very hot, and the open stone of the fort is hard going. From about July to September the sanctuary is closed to tourists, and while the hills are green, paths are wet. For older travellers, winter mornings are the sweet spot, with the fort in the morning and a rest after lunch.
