After a warm lunch of thukpa or momos in town, drive out to Dorjeeling village for an easy walk, and finish with the hanging bridge over the Siyom before the light fades. Return to your homestay before dark, when the valley turns cold.

Pacing
Pacing a Mechuka trip for parents and children
- Allow a full, slow day for the road; Aalo to Mechuka is a long drive on mountain roads, so plan breaks and carry water and snacks.
- Mechuka sits at about 1,800 m; walk gently on day one and rest if you feel breathless.
- Pack warm layers for mornings and evenings, even in sunny months.
- Medical help is limited; carry regular medicines, a basic first-aid kit and details of your nearest hospital.
- Use a driver experienced with Arunachal roads and check the weather before each leg.
- Choose homestays with working heating and ask about hot water before booking.
