Then walk through the spice garden. Staff will show you cardamom bushes, pepper vines climbing support trees, cinnamon saplings and clove trees. They encourage you to taste and smell each: bite a green cardamom for its cooling effect, crush a clove for its bite, feel the heat of pepper. The sensory part is the point; the garden itself is not large or wild, but the education is genuine.
At the garden shop, spices are priced fairly compared to tourist markets elsewhere.
