Pacing
Pacing a Patalkot trip for parents and children
- Base yourself in Tamia rather than Chhindwara, so the viewpoints are a short drive away.
- Enjoy the valley from the rim: the viewpoints and Tamia's sunset point are reachable by car with little walking.
- Do not attempt the descent into the valley without good fitness and a local guide; the path is steep, uneven and slippery after rain.
- Carry water, snacks and any medicines; there are few shops beyond Tamia.
- Book rooms in advance, especially in October and around festivals, as Tamia has limited accommodation.
- Avoid driving the forest roads after dark.
