How to reach Patnem Beach by air
Dabolim airport (GOI) is about 60 to 65 km north, roughly 1.5 to 2 hours by pre-paid taxi or hired car. Manohar International Airport at Mopa (GOX) is in North Goa and much further away, so GOI is the practical choice for Patnem.
How to reach Patnem Beach by train
Canacona (CNO) on the Konkan Railway is at Chaudi, a few kilometres from the beach, and is served by local and passenger trains. Madgaon Junction (MAO) is the main railhead, about 35 km away, with more long-distance trains; take a taxi or bus onward.
How to reach Patnem Beach by road
Patnem lies off the Karwar to Margao highway (NH 66) near Chaudi. Buses run from Margao towards Canacona, Palolem and Patnem, and from the Chaudi junction an auto or taxi covers the last few kilometres. Parking near the beach is limited for cars.
Getting around Patnem Beach
Walking is the main way around the beach and village lanes. Rickshaws and taxis cover Colomb, Palolem and Chaudi, scooters can be hired locally, and a car and driver is easiest for Mallikarjuna Temple, Cotigao and Cabo de Rama.

Easy transfers to and in Patnem Beach
- The road between Patnem, Colomb and Palolem has no pavement in places and is poorly lit. Use a rickshaw after dark and agree the fare first.
- Use a car or taxi for temples, sanctuaries and Chaudi. Parking near the beach is hard for cars, so ask your stay to arrange transfers.
- Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
- Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
- Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
