Levant & Nar: what visitors should know first

Go for a sit-down mezze and grill dinner with sea views. It sits inside a resort, so taxis are easy, but check non-guest access, current hours and vegetarian dishes before booking.

Why it matters

Why Levant & Nar is worth your time

Guides to Ras Al Khaimah dining tend to split into hotel restaurants and everyday Arabic or Indian places. Levant & Nar belongs to the first group, and it is one of the few resort restaurants that three of the pages we opened name, which makes it a reasonable first choice if you want one special dinner.

The cuisine is easy for many Indian travellers to approach: grilled meats, breads, dips and salads are familiar flavours. It is not a vegetarian restaurant and has no diet tag, so strict vegetarian, Jain or vegan diners should call ahead and ask how dishes are made.

How to experience it

BBC Good Food Middle East describes Levant & Nar as offering genuine Turkish and Lebanese flavours in an elegant setting, and Life Report lists it as a Lebanese and Turkish restaurant overlooking the Arabian Gulf with fresh mezze and grilled meats. Visit Ras Al Khaimah places it at the InterContinental Mina Al Arab resort and calls it a crowd favourite that many consider the best in the emirate.

A sensible approach for a family is to share a spread of mezze, which suits a group with mixed appetites, and then add grilled dishes for those who eat meat. Mezze are often built around chickpeas, aubergine, salads and bread, so vegetarians can often assemble a meal, but we did not see the menu; ask which dishes are meat-free and whether they share stock or grills.

Book a table at sunset if you want the sea in view, and confirm what the resort asks of non-guests.

Plan with confidence

Small checks that make a better meal.

  • Reserve a table and confirm hours
  • Ask about non-guest access at the resort
  • Ask which mezze are meat-free
  • Request a table near the entrance
