Book a taxi or join a day tour from Rishikesh the evening before. You will leave early, around 7–8 am, and drive north through the Himalayan foothills. The road climbs and curves through small towns, forests and terraced fields. Watch the landscape change from the Gangetic plain to the Himalayan valleys.
Arrive in Devprayag by mid-morning. Walk to the confluence ghat, a dramatic place where two large rivers meet abruptly, with noticeably different coloured waters mixing. Sit by the water for a long time. Have lunch at a small restaurant overlooking the rivers. Visit a small temple or two if you have time, then drive back to Rishikesh in the late afternoon, arriving by evening.

How long is the drive from Rishikesh to Devprayag?
