Plan 01
1 day at Sanwaliya Seth
- 01
Day 1: Darshan and a fort afternoon
Leave Chittorgarh or Udaipur early so you reach Mandphiya for morning darshan, ideally on an ordinary weekday. Take prasad and rest, then drive a few kilometres to the Prakatya Sthal at Bhadsoda. Have lunch on the highway, and use the afternoon for Chittor Fort if you are heading back to Chittorgarh, or head on to Udaipur if you are not.
Stop Time needed Walking Best time Chittor Fort 3-5 hours Moderate October to March, early morning Pace: Moderate walking today — plan a sit-down break between stops.
With parents at Chittor Fort: The fort is spread over a large hilltop, so hiring a car inside saves long walks. The approach is a winding road rather than steps, but the ground inside is uneven in places, and shade is limited in the hot months.

Drive about 40 km to Mandphiya for darshan, then visit Bhadsoda. If you want a quiet day, avoid Amavasya and the days around Janmashtami. Continue to Udaipur or return to Chittorgarh in the afternoon.

Pacing
Pacing a Sanwaliya Seth trip for parents and children
- Visit on an ordinary weekday morning. Amavasya, Janmashtami and the Jal Jhulani Ekadashi fair bring very dense crowds.
- Phone the temple office to confirm darshan timings before travelling; listings disagree and change on festival days.
- Ask staff on arrival about arrangements for the elderly and wheelchair users. I could not verify a formal policy.
- Carry water and avoid the hot months of April to June; queues mean standing for long periods.
- Hire a car and driver for the day; the three temples are a short drive apart and the highway has few places to rest.
- Timings: Listings disagree on darshan times. Phone the temple office before you travel, and expect changes on festival days.
