Area by area

Silvassa neighbourhoods compared

  1. 01

    Silvassa town centre

Best for: Travellers who want to walk to the museum, church and riverfront

Good to know: Central, with the widest choice of restaurants and taxis. Traffic and noise can build up in the evening, so ask for a quiet room and check lift access for elders.

Sights in this area: Daman Ganga Riverfront

  2. 02

    Riverside and Daman Ganga area

Best for: Families and seniors who want a calmer base

Good to know: Quieter stays near the river and the Swaminarayan temple. Fewer food options within walking distance, so you will usually need a car for dinner.

  3. 03

    Vapi side (Silvassa-Vapi road)

Best for: Travellers arriving by train who want a short transfer

Good to know: Close to Vapi station and the Vanganga Lake Garden, with more business-style hotels. Less atmosphere, but convenient for early trains.

  4. 04

    Khanvel and Dudhni (outdoors)

Best for: Travellers who want forest or reservoir surroundings

Good to know: Riverside and nature-oriented stays are available around Khanvel and Dudhni, but they are far from town and have limited dining. Confirm road conditions and food before booking.

Before you book

What to check when booking for older travellers

  • Ask for a lift, or a ground-floor room — many heritage hotels have steps and no lift.
  • Check how far the hotel is from the sights you care about, in minutes by road, not kilometres.
  • Prefer free cancellation until close to the date, in case plans or health change.
  • Look for 24-hour reception, in-house dining and a doctor-on-call policy.
  • Read recent reviews for noise — old-city streets and wedding venues can be loud late.
