The short answer

When to go to Sukhothai

The best months are November to February, when the weather is dry and mornings are cool enough for the open ruins. March and April are very hot, with April averaging a daily high near 38 degrees, and the rains from May to October make paths muddy, with September the wettest. For older travellers, the cooler season makes the long, shade-poor walks between temples far more comfortable, and a midday rest is still wise.
