The short answer

When to go to Uluwatu

The drier months, roughly May to October, are the most comfortable for the temple, cliff paths and beaches, with August the driest on the Denpasar record we used. These are also the busiest months, so book hotels and drivers early. From November to April the rain is heavier, peaking from December to February, which makes steps and cliff paths slippery and can make swimming rough. Older travellers can still visit then, but should plan shorter outings and indoor stops.
