Plan 01
1 day in Yawal
- 01
Day 1: Pal and the Satpura forest
Leave early for Pal, about 25 km from Raver, so you reach the forest in the cool hours. Walk to the Garbardi dam viewpoint, visit the forest department's garden and museum, and if the Satpuda Jungle Safari is running, confirm availability before you arrive. Carry lunch and water, rest in the afternoon and return to the plains before dusk.
Plan 02
2 days in Yawal
- 01
Day 1: Pal and the sanctuary
Take the morning at Pal, with the forest road, dam and viewpoints. After lunch, rest. If you have booked the safari or a forest rest house, use the late afternoon for it; otherwise return to Bhusawal or Jalgaon for the night.
- 02
Day 2: Unapdev hot spring
Drive to Unapdev in the Satpura foothills, near Chopda, for the hot-water fountain and its small temple. Treat it as a picnic and a rest, not a long sightseeing day, and return in good time.
Plan 03
3 days in Yawal
- 01
Day 1: Yawal and the sanctuary approach
Arrive and rest. Visit the sanctuary's lower slopes and the town's temples if you are interested, and confirm safari and rest-house arrangements with the forest office.
- 02
Day 2: Pal
Spend a full day at Pal: the forest road, Garbardi dam, the ruins of the old fort and the forest department's museum. If the safari is running, take an early slot, since wildlife is most active in the morning.
- 03
Day 3: Farkande or Unapdev
Choose between the Swinging Towers of Farkande, 16 km from Erandol, and the hot spring at Unapdev. Both are rural outings with limited facilities, so go with a driver and carry water.

Pacing
Pacing a Yawal trip for parents and children
- Use a car and driver for Pal and the other sights; public transport is thin and there are long waits.
- Visit between November and February. April and May are very hot, and the monsoon makes forest roads and trails slippery.
- Carry drinking water, snacks, sun protection and regular medicines. Facilities at Pal and Unapdev are limited.
- Hospitals are in Yawal, Bhusawal and Jalgaon, not near the forest. Note the nearest one before you start the drive.
- Book any forest rest house or safari through the forest department in advance rather than relying on a walk-in.
- At Farkande, keep clear of the leaning tower; the surviving minaret is in poor condition.
