Why it matters

Why Baramura (Hathai Kotor) Eco Park is worth your time

The Baramura range is one of Tripura's largest remaining forest tracts, and the source of the Saidra and Sumli rivers. It is also known for hornbills, celebrated in local hornbill festivals.

For visitors based in Agartala, the park is the easiest way to walk in this forest without a guide or long journey, and a reminder that Tripura's hill forests are worth protecting. Keeping to the paths, avoiding loud music and taking litter away helps the park do the conservation and awareness work it was set up for.
