Agumbe sits on the road between Udupi and Thirthahalli, climbing through hairpin bends from Someshwara. KSRTC and private buses run from Udupi, Shivamogga and Bengaluru; Bengaluru is roughly 350 km away.
Getting around Agumbe
The village is small enough to walk, with autos and local buses for short hops. For Kundadri, Kudlu Teertha and the coast, hire a taxi or use your own car.
For parents and senior travellers
Easy transfers to and in Agumbe
- Facilities are basic, so carry medicines, water, snacks and a torch, and check hot water and power backup in advance.
- The ghat road has many hairpin bends; seat anyone prone to motion sickness in front and travel in daylight only.
- If you want comforts, stay in Udupi and make Agumbe a long day trip with a driver.
