Arambol is reached from Pernem in the east or from the south via Morjim and Mandrem. Arambol Junction, near the post office, bus stop and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, is the local hub, with a third road leading north towards Keri and Tiracol. Buses serve Pernem and Mapusa.

For parents and senior travellers

Easy transfers to and in Arambol Beach

  • Choose a room close to the beach road with a ground floor or a lift. The lanes are narrow, steps are common and the beach is long and uneven.
  • Skip the climb to the paragliding hill and the rocky path to the lake unless you are steady on your feet. Hire a taxi or scooter taxi for the road to Paliem if one is available.
  • Eat lunch early and have dinner before the evening crowd arrives. After dark the beach has music, drum circles and handcarts.
  • Carry water, a hat and sun protection. Midday heat and humidity are strong from March to May.
  • Know where the nearest medical facility is, and carry your prescriptions. The village has pharmacies, but major hospitals are in Mapusa and Panaji.
  • Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
  • Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
  • Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
