The short answer

When to go to Bhandardara

The most comfortable window is October to February, when skies are clear, paths are drier and trekking on Kalsubai or Ratangad is realistic. July to September is the season for full waterfalls at Umbrella Falls and Randha Falls and a deep green landscape, but rain is heavy and paths are slippery. For older travellers, the dam, lake and temple are the easier outings, and a post-monsoon or winter weekday is the calmest choice. Fireflies in nearby villages usually appear from mid-May to mid-June.
