Plan 03
3 days in Bintan
- 01
Day 1: Arrive and Penyengat
Take the ferry to Tanjung Pinang, check in, and visit Penyengat in the afternoon if boats are running.
- 02
Day 2: Senggarang and the museum
Visit the Senggarang temples and stilt village in the morning and the museum after lunch.
Stop Time needed Walking Best time Senggarang Temples and Stilt Village 2 to 3 hours Moderate Morning, in drier months (February or July to August) Pace: Moderate walking today — plan a sit-down break between stops.
With parents at Senggarang Temples and Stilt Village: Boat boarding is awkward and the village walkways can be narrow and uneven over water. Older travellers should go with a companion, wear non-slip shoes, and skip the stilt walkways if unsteady.

Day 3: Lagoi and Treasure Bay
Transfer to Lagoi, swim at Treasure Bay, and spend a final evening at your resort before the ferry back to Singapore.

Pacing
Pacing a Bintan trip for parents and children
- Choose a resort at Lagoi if mobility is limited; hotels meet the ferry and distances inside each resort are short.
- For Penyengat, board small boats slowly, ask for a hand on the jetty and use a local ride between sights.
- Visit in the morning; midday heat is humid and shade is limited at Trikora and Penyengat.
- Carry travel insurance with medical evacuation, since we could not confirm local hospital capacity.
- Write to your hotel about vegetarian, Jain or low-spice meals before you arrive.
- Keep a spare day in the plan for ferry delays and heavy rain.
