How to reach Cavelossim Beach by road

Cavelossim lies about 15 km south of Margao by road, and Panaji is more than an hour's drive away depending on traffic. The Assolna-Cavelossim bridge crosses the Sal to Betul and the south.

Taxis, app cabs, autos and rented scooters are available. The beach road and Mobor are walkable between hotels and cafés in the cooler hours. For Margao, Betul and day trips, a hired car with a driver is the easiest option.

For parents and senior travellers

Easy transfers to and in Cavelossim Beach

  • Use a car with a driver for trips to Margao and Betul; roads are narrow and the distances add up.
  • Carry water, a hat and some cash, as ATMs and card machines can be limited near the beach.
  • Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
  • Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
  • Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
