   Day 1: Madikeri and Raja's Seat

   Start with an early breakfast in Madikeri, then walk through the old bazaar to Madikeri Fort, which is largely open-air and gives you views over the town. Spend an hour there, then drive up to Raja's Seat viewpoint for mid-morning tea and views over the valleys. Return to Madikeri for lunch, rest through the afternoon, and in the late afternoon visit the golden-hour light at either Jathra Waterfalls (if you have energy) or take a quiet walk through a local coffee estate. End with dinner at one of Madikeri's restaurants along the main street.

1. 01

   Day 1: Madikeri, Raja's Seat and Talakaveri

   Start early with a walk around Madikeri Fort and the old town bazaar. Have lunch in Madikeri, then drive to Talakaveri (the source of the Kaveri River, about 45 minutes away). Spend an hour at the sacred site and pool, then return and rest. In the evening, visit Raja's Seat for sunset views. Dinner in Madikeri.

   Day 2: Abbey Falls and Nisargadhama

   Drive early to Abbey Falls for a short walk around the waterfall and forested valley. Return to Madikeri for late breakfast. In the afternoon, visit Nisargadhama, an island in the Kaveri River with walking trails and river views. If you have time, stop at Bhagamandala on the way back. Rest and dinner in Madikeri.

1. 01

   Day 1: Madikeri and surroundings

   Morning walk around Madikeri Fort and the bazaar. Late morning visit to Raja's Seat. Lunch in town, afternoon rest. Evening visit to a local coffee estate or cardamom plantation for a walk and tasting. Dinner in Madikeri.

2. 02

   Day 2: Talakaveri, Abbey Falls and Nisargadhama

   Early drive to Talakaveri for the source of the Kaveri and a dip in the sacred pool. Return to Madikeri for brunch. Afternoon visit to Abbey Falls for a walk through the forested gorge. Evening at Nisargadhama if you have energy. Dinner in Madikeri.

3. 03

   Day 3: Dubare or Nagarhole day trip

   Either visit Dubare Elephant Camp (about 1.5 hours) to watch or interact with elephants, or take a game drive in Nagarhole National Park (about 1 hour) for a chance to see gaur, sambhar and if lucky, a tiger or leopard. Return in the evening. Alternatively, visit Honnamana Kere lake for a peaceful afternoon and bird-watching. Dinner in Madikeri.

Pacing

Make the plan work for everyone

• Hire a car and driver for the full duration of your stay. Coorg's roads are winding, and auto-rickshaws are infrequent in rural areas.
• Do Madikeri Fort and Raja's Seat in the morning before the heat. Both are at moderate elevation and the walks are short.
• Waterfall walks (Abbey Falls, Irupu) involve some steep sections and wet rocks. Choose flat-ground alternatives like Nisargadhama if mobility is a concern.
• High-altitude roads to Talakaveri and beyond can be narrow and windy. If you suffer from motion sickness, sit in the front seat and ask the driver to go slowly.
• Stay hydrated. The elevation and cool mornings can mask dehydration. Carry water bottles and rest often.
• Check the monsoon forecast if you visit June to September. Landslides can block roads for hours, and some sights are inaccessible.
