Pacing
Pacing a Dhamtari trip for parents and children
- Travel between October and March; summer heat is intense and the monsoon makes rural roads slippery.
- Use a car with driver for all outings; public transport to Sihawa and Sitanadi is limited.
- Gangrel Dam and Bilai Mata are the easiest stops; save Sihawa and Sitanadi for days when you feel strong.
- Carry water, snacks and regular medicines; facilities are limited on rural routes.
- Check the road and security situation for the forest areas with the reserve office before you travel.
- Wear shoes with grip at the Karneshwar temples, where the ground is uneven.
