The short answer

When to go to El Nido

The most comfortable window is roughly December to April, when rainfall is low, seas are calmer and boat tours run on schedule. Numbers here come from nearby Coron, which shares the northern Palawan climate, so treat them as a guide. May rains build, and June to September is the wettest, with tours often cancelled. For older travellers, the dry months are also easier on the boats and the road from Puerto Princesa, though afternoons are hot and shade is limited.
