Pacing

Pacing a Gandhi Sagar trip for parents and children

  • Plan one outing a day and keep midday free; shade and seating are scarce.
  • Use a comfortable hired car for the long roads, and carry water and snacks.
  • The dam viewpoint is the easiest sight; Hinglajgarh and the rock shelters involve uneven ground.
  • Book lodging ahead and confirm ground-floor rooms and meals.
  • Carry basic medicines; medical facilities near the dam are limited.
  • Heat: April to June is very hot, with daytime highs around 40 C. Plan outings for early morning and rest through the afternoon.
