Why it matters
Why Bai Tu Long National Park is worth your time
Bai Tu Long shows what the bay looks like with fewer cruise boats. The scenery is of the same kind, and the experience is quieter.
It is also a protected area: designated in 2001 and recognised as an ASEAN Heritage Park, it protects both land and marine environments. Visiting it adds a conservation angle to a Ha Long trip. For older travellers, fewer boats can also mean calmer landings and less waiting, which makes a long day easier.
