For parents and senior travellers
Easy transfers to and in Jampui Hills
- Break the long road journey; do not attempt Agartala to Jampui and back in a day.
- Most views can be enjoyed from the road or a short walk; leave the climb to the Betlingchhip watchtower to fitter family members.
- Medical facilities are limited; the nearest sub-divisional hospital is at Kanchanpur, so carry all medicines.
- Avoid the monsoon months, when roads are wet and landslips possible.
- Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
- Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
- Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
