How to reach Jibhi by air

The nearest airport is Bhuntar (Kullu-Manali), code KUU, about 50 km from Jibhi and roughly 2 hours by road. Flights are limited and often affected by weather. Chandigarh (IXC) has more flights but is a much longer drive of about 6 to 7 hours.

How to reach Jibhi by train

There is no railway at Jibhi. The nearest broad-gauge railhead is Chandigarh (CDG), about 265 km away. Joginder Nagar (JOP), on the narrow-gauge Kangra line, is closer but slow, and onward road travel is still long.

How to reach Jibhi by road

From the Mandi-Kullu highway, turn off at Aut and drive through Banjar to Jibhi, roughly 27 to 31 km from Aut, depending on source. Overnight buses from Delhi and Chandigarh serve Aut; from there take a local bus to Banjar or a taxi. Delhi is about 500 km away.

Getting around Jibhi

Hire a taxi or arrange transfers through your homestay. Local buses run to Banjar but are infrequent, and the waterfall and village are walkable. Roads are narrow and winding, so do not plan tight connections, and check conditions in monsoon.

For parents and senior travellers

Easy transfers to and in Jibhi

  • Choose a stay with a ground-floor room and a short, level path from the road; many cottages sit down or up steep stone steps.
  • Do Jalori Pass by car, and walk only as far as feels comfortable at around 3,100 m; the Serolsar walk is strenuous.
  • Plan one outing a day with a rest after lunch. The roads are slow, and distances on maps are misleading.
  • Carry regular medicines and a simple first-aid kit; the nearest large hospitals are in Kullu or Mandi, hours away.
  • Avoid July and August; landslides can close the road for hours.
  • Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
  • Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
  • Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
