The nearest airport is Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Airport at Nanded (NDC), about 125 km by road, roughly two to three hours; check current flights before booking. Hyderabad and Nagpur have larger airports but are much further.

How to reach Kinwat by train

Kinwat (KNVT) is on the Mudkhed to Adilabad line in the Nanded division of South Central Railway, with a few passenger and DEMU services. Nanded (NED) is the major railhead, about 125 km away by road.

Kinwat is reached by road from Nanded, about 125 km, and from Adilabad across the border in Telangana. MSRTC and private buses connect Kinwat with Nanded, Mahur and other towns; confirm current services at the bus stand.

Getting around Kinwat

A hired car with a driver is the practical way to reach Unkeshwar, Sahastrakund, Mahur and the sanctuary. Autos and shared jeeps run locally, but they are hard to rely on for sightseeing; agree the route and return time before you set off.

For parents and senior travellers

Easy transfers to and in Kinwat

  • Hire a car and driver for the whole day; public transport between the sights is sparse and walks from the road can be long.
  • Visit between November and February. April and May are very hot, and the monsoon makes forest tracks and some roads difficult.
  • Carry drinking water, snacks, sun protection and regular medicines from Kinwat or Nanded. Facilities near the sanctuary and waterfall are minimal.
  • Hospitals of any size are in Kinwat, Nanded and Adilabad, not near the sights. Note the nearest one before long drives.
  • Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
  • Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
  • Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
