Easy transfers to and in Kurseong
- Hire a taxi for the day rather than relying on walking; Kurseong's roads are steep and the best sights are spread along the ridge.
- Choose short sections of the toy train rather than the full Siliguri to Darjeeling run; the ride is slow and the seats are small.
- Avoid the monsoon from June to September, when landslides and road closures can disrupt travel.
- Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
- Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
- Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
