Guides for the stops on these routes

Pacing

Pacing a Kurukshetra trip for parents and children

  • Visit Brahma Sarovar at dawn or dusk, when it is cooler and the ghats are calmer; avoid new-moon days and eclipses.
  • Plan a midday rest or museum visit; the Sri Krishna Museum and Panorama Centre are cool and level.
  • Carry socks or choose shoes that slip off easily, since temple floors can be hot stone in summer.
  • Use a cab or auto for the whole day instead of waiting for transport, especially for Jyotisar and Narkatari.
  • Visit between October and March; avoid April to June, when temperatures can exceed 40 degrees.
  • Carry water, a hat and any medication, and keep small change for offerings and donations.
