Lambasingi is a small village in the Chintapalli mandal of Alluri Sitharama Raju district, in the Eastern Ghats of Andhra Pradesh. It sits at about 1,000 m, noticeably cooler than the coast, and is often called the Kashmir of Andhra Pradesh because winter mornings are cold enough that locals and visitors talk of frost and mist, though sources differ on whether anything resembling snow ever falls. It is also known as Korra Bayalu.
There are no large monuments here. The attractions are quiet and simple: a hill viewpoint for dawn mist, a small reservoir at Thajangi, a waterfall on the road up, and farms growing strawberries, coffee and black pepper. Kond and Bagata communities live in the surrounding villages, and the small tourism industry has grown around them.
It is a short trip, best done as one night, or two if you want to pair it with Araku Valley. Roads are winding ghat roads, mobile signal can be patchy, and weekends bring a crowd from Visakhapatnam. Midweek stays are calmer.
For older travellers it works well if you accept its limits. The sunrise climb is demanding, but the farm walks, the reservoir and a warm cottage with a bonfire are gentle. Pack for the cold, book your stay ahead for winter, and keep expectations modest: this is a village stay, not a developed hill station.
