Guides for the stops on these routes
Pacing
Pacing a Mandalgarh trip for parents and children
- Base yourself in Bhilwara, Bundi or Chittorgarh and visit Mandalgarh by car; accommodation in town is basic.
- Visit the fort early on a winter morning. The ground is rough, paths are not made up and there is little shade.
- Take sturdy shoes and a stick if you use one; some paths are steep or broken.
- Carry water, snacks and any medicines, as facilities at the fort and on rural roads are minimal.
- Bijolia's temples are easier underfoot than the fort, so choose them if mobility is limited.
- Plan the drives to finish before dark, since rural roads are poorly lit.
