Guides for the stops on these routes
Pacing
Pacing a Narsinghgarh trip for parents and children
- Go on a hired car from Bhopal and arrange a driver who knows the roads; public transport is infrequent.
- Do the fort in the morning, rest after lunch, and keep the lakeside walk for the evening.
- The lake, Narsingh Dev Temple and the sanctuary roads are the easiest stops; the fort and hilltop shrine need good shoes and a slow pace.
- Carry water, a hat, snacks and any medicines, since services are limited outside town.
- Dress modestly at temples and keep small change for offerings.
- Avoid April to June, when heat makes the fort climb punishing.
