Day 2: Lodh Falls
Start early with a hired car for Lodh Falls, the highest waterfall in Jharkhand, allowing most of the day for roads and the final walk. Check access and conditions beforehand and return before dark.

With parents at Lodh Falls (Budha Ghagh): The final approach involves a walk of around 1.5 km along a maintained route, with some uneven ground. The roads to reach it are narrow and long, which is tiring in itself. Older travellers can be happy with the viewing area if they pace the day.

Guides for the stops on these routes
Pacing
Pacing a Netarhat trip for parents and children
- Book accommodation well ahead through Jharkhand Tourism; lodging is limited and weekends fill early.
- Choose the easy viewpoints: Sunrise Point, Koel View Point and Magnolia Sunset Point need little walking.
- Skip steep waterfall paths such as Upper Ghaghri unless you are sure-footed; the climb back is the hard part.
- Pack warm layers from November to February, because mornings and evenings are cold on the plateau.
- Hire a car and driver who know the forest roads, and avoid travelling after dark.
- Carry medicines, water and snacks; services are thin and distances are long.
