   Day 1: Cellular Jail and jetty

   Arrive early and head straight from the airport to your hotel to rest and freshen up. In the late morning, visit the Cellular Jail (Kala Pani), entering with a guide or audio guide. Spend two to three hours walking the corridors, seeing the small cells and the gallows, then the sound-and-light show in the amphitheatre at sunset (usually starts around 5:30 pm; check the schedule on arrival). Have dinner near the jetty or in Aberdeen Bazaar, and rest early if you have an early ferry the next morning.

1. 01

   Day 1: Cellular Jail and Aberdeen Bazaar

   Arrive, rest briefly, then visit the Cellular Jail in the late morning with a guide. Spend the afternoon at the audio-light show at sunset. Have dinner in Aberdeen Bazaar or near the jetty, then walk the bazaar in the early evening when it is busy but not sweltering. Return to your hotel and rest.

   Day 2: Ferry to Havelock or North/South Bay

   Take an early government or private ferry from the jetty to Havelock Island (2–3 hours) or Shaheed Dweep (Neil Island; roughly 1.5 hours). Alternatively, book a day boat trip to North Bay or South Bay for a snorkel or beach walk, leaving Port Blair around 7–8 am and returning by 4–5 pm. These trips usually include a guided tour of the reefs or mangrove creeks. Return for dinner at your hotel in Port Blair.

   Day 1: Cellular Jail arrival day

   Arrive, rest at your hotel, then visit the Cellular Jail in the late afternoon (to avoid the midday heat). Spend a few hours in the jail and the audio-light show at sunset. Dinner in Aberdeen Bazaar.

   Day 2: Jetty, Secretariat Museum and island ferry

   Spend the morning at the Secretariat Museum (the old administrative building with photography and local history) or walk around the jetty area watching ferries and boats. Take an early ferry to Havelock Island (2–3 hours), spend the afternoon on Radhanagar Beach or another beach, and return on an evening or next-day ferry. Alternatively, take a guided day trip to North Bay or South Bay with snorkelling. Rest in the evening back at your hotel.

3. 03

   Day 3: A quieter morning and departure

   Spend a leisurely morning in Aberdeen Bazaar browsing shells and local handicrafts, have a long lunch, and prepare for departure. If you have a late flight or extra time, take an auto to Corbyn's Cove Beach on the town's southern edge (roughly 20–30 minutes) for a final swim and rest by the water.

Make the plan work for everyone

• The Cellular Jail has flat interior corridors and is mostly level. The audio-light show is outdoors on a sloped amphitheatre; allow time to sit and rest between sections if needed.
• Avoid visiting Port Blair in June to September (monsoon season), when heat and humidity are extreme and ferries are less reliable. October to March is the comfortable window.
• The town is built on a hillside; choose a hotel near the jetty or bazaar to minimize steep climbs. Ask your hotel about access and parking before booking.
• Use app-based cabs or negotiate fixed fares with auto drivers beforehand. The town is small; a single auto or taxi for the day to visit the Cellular Jail, bazaar and jetty is practical.
• The Cellular Jail audio guide is available in English; it provides historical context and paces the visit comfortably. Do not rush; give yourself two to three hours for the full experience.
• Bring sunscreen, a hat and light clothing; the coastal heat reflects off water and buildings. Carry bottled water and rest frequently in shaded areas.
