Easy transfers to and in Salasar Balaji

  • Carry water and a hat, and use shaded corners of the queue; summers are severe.
  • Ask volunteers or staff about arrangements for the elderly or wheelchair users; I could not verify a formal system.
  • Choose a dharamshala or hotel within a short auto ride of the temple, preferably with a lift and attached bathroom.
  • Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
  • Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
  • Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
