Pacing

Pacing a Solapur trip for parents and children

  • Do outdoor sights in the first two hours after sunrise; afternoons are hot even in winter.
  • Carry water and a hat for the fort and Nannaj; shade and seating are scarce.
  • Avoid the Gadda Yatra in mid-January if crowds are a concern.
  • Hire a car with a driver for Akkalkot rather than relying on crowded buses.
  • Dress modestly for temples and remove footwear outside.
  • Heat: April and May reach mean highs above 40°C. Plan outdoor sights at sunrise and rest in the afternoon.
