Easy transfers to and in Tiruvannamalai
- The hill paths to Skandashram and Virupaksha Cave involve a steady climb; go early, carry water and turn back if it feels too much.
- Avoid full-moon nights and the Karthigai Deepam period if crowds are a concern; the roads fill with pilgrims.
- Carry socks for the walk to the temple gate and a small towel; ask whether footwear can be left safely before you enter.
- Choose a hotel with a lift or ground-floor rooms and a car-drop close to the door.
- Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
- Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
- Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
