The short answer
Bheelberi Falls: what visitors should know first
Visit in or just after the monsoon, when the water is running; in the dry months it is a rock face and not worth the drive. Plan a rough jeep track of about 4 km and confirm permission first.

Why it matters
Why Bheelberi Falls is worth your time
Bheelberi is one of the higher waterfalls in Rajasthan, in a state where perennial water is rare. The falls and their cliffs also provide roosting sites for long-billed vultures, which are in decline across India.
For visitors, it explains why the Aravallis turn green in the monsoon, and it gives the sanctuary a reason to visit outside winter, when most people stay away. It also rewards a slow, patient visit: a short trail, the sound of water on rock, cliff birds overhead and almost no other people around.

Plan your visit
How to experience it
Plan this as a monsoon outing. Arrange permission and a suitable high-clearance vehicle in advance, because the nature trail from the road is about 4 km and can be rough after rain. Go in the morning, when you have the light and time to return before dark.
At the falls, stay on the track and keep a safe distance from the edge. The water drops about 55 m down a cliff face, and in a good rainy season you can hear it from some way off. Indian vultures roost on the rock cliffs, so look up as well as ahead.
If the rains have been poor, the falls may be reduced to a trickle. Ask the forest staff before you set out so you do not make a long trip for a dry cliff.
Plan with confidence
Small decisions that make the visit easier.
- Check with forest staff whether the falls are flowing
- Use a high-clearance vehicle
- Wear shoes with grip
- Keep clear of wet rocks and the edge
- Leave before dark
