Why it matters
Why Ghoram Ghat Railway Section is worth your time
Railways in the Aravallis had to cut through steep ground, and this section shows the result: tunnels, bridges and curves that fit a line into hill folds. For a traveller on the road to the sanctuary, it adds a different kind of scenery from the forest and shrines.
It is also a reminder that the region is crossed by routes that connected Marwar and Mewar. A short stop here makes the drive more interesting without taking much time, and suits those who like trains and hills.

Plan your visit
How to experience it
Ask your driver for Ghoram Ghat on the road out of Todgarh. The point of the visit is the scenery: a railway line threading through the folds of the Aravallis, with tunnels, small bridges and, after good rain, waterfalls on the slopes nearby. The section lies between Kamlighat and Phulad stations.
Stop at a safe spot off the road and look at the hills. Mornings and late afternoons give the best light, and the monsoon months give the greenest and most dramatic view. If you are lucky, a train will pass through, but timetables should be checked beforehand and nothing is guaranteed.
Keep the visit short and respect the railway. Do not cross or stand near the track, do not fly drones without permission, and take your litter with you. Combine the stop with Bheelberi Falls or the drive to Rajsamand.
Plan with confidence
Small decisions that make the visit easier.
- Stay well away from the track
- Carry water
- Go in daylight
- Check road conditions after heavy rain
- Combine with Bheelberi Falls
