Pacing
Pacing a Vedanthangal trip for parents and children
- Go early in the morning when it is cooler and the birds are active.
- Keep to the flat bund path; the watchtower is optional.
- Carry drinking water, snacks and a hat as shade and food are limited.
- Hire a car with a driver, since local transport is infrequent.
- Check recent rainfall before travelling, since a dry year can mean few birds.
- Use restrooms in Chengalpattu or Madurantakam before heading out.
