Easy transfers to and in Ambaji

  • Marble underfoot at the temple is cold in winter and scorching at midday; carry socks if allowed and visit early or late.
  • Hire a car and driver for Gabbar, Kumbhariya and Koteshwar. Autos are fine in town but offer little shade or comfort on longer drives.
  • Carry water, a hat and any medicines, and note the Ambaji Trust Hospital and the government hospital in town for basic care.
  • Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
  • Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
  • Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
