The short answer
Qila Lohgarh Sahib: what visitors should know first
Worth it if you want to understand the forts' geography and have a car. It is modern and quiet, with little to see beyond the gurdwara, so keep it short and pair it with Holgarh.
History and context
The story behind Qila Lohgarh Sahib
One of the forts at Anandpur Sahib, Lohgarh is linked to a factory for making arms. In the 1700 siege, Bhai Bachittar Singh is said to have faced an elephant sent against the gate. The present gurdwara is a modern building on the site.

Why it matters
Why Qila Lohgarh Sahib is worth your time
Lohgarh, the 'fort of steel', protected the riverside flank of Anandpur Sahib and housed a factory for making arms, according to the DV Network account. It was one of the forts the Guru connected by earthworks and tunnels against the hill rajas and the Mughals.
Like the other fort sites, the original structure is gone and the present gurdwara is a modern one. It is useful for understanding how the Anandpur defences were arranged, especially if you have already seen Anandgarh and Kesgarh. Seeing it alongside Anandgarh and Holgarh gives a sense of how widely the Guru's defences were spread around the town, even though little of the original survives.

How to experience it
Lohgarh lies on the lower ground south-west of the old town, on the plains rather than a hill. Take a car or auto from the town centre and leave your shoes at the entrance. Spend a few minutes in the main hall with the Guru Granth Sahib and walk around the compound.
The fort is associated with the story of Bhai Bachittar Singh, who turned back an elephant sent to break its gate during the 1700 siege. It was also where weapons for the Guru's army were made. Outlook Traveller notes that the Hola Mohalla fair has been held here since 1701.
Because there is not a lot to see beyond the shrine, combine it with Holgarh in a short fort circuit and keep the rest of the day for rest.
